What is PRP for Hair?

The easiest way to describe this treatment is as follows. Blood is extracted from the patient and is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the red blood cells, and create an incredibly rich plasma. This is injected back into the scalp, and is intended to stimulate activity in the hair follicles. The treatment has been used in cosmetic applications for years.   Scientifically proven to work.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)  Our blood is made up of 93% red blood cells, 6% white blood cells, 1% platelets and plasma. Platelets are best known for their function of blood-clotting to stop bleeding. Platelets, however, are much more significant than this, as human platelets are also a critical component in injury healing.  Platelets are naturally extremely rich in the connective tissue growth and healing factors. The body’s first response to tissue injury is to deliver platelets to the area. Platelets initiate repair and attract stem cells to the injury. Injecting these growth factors into damaged hair follicles stimulates the natural repair process. In order to maximize the healing process, the platelets must be concentrated and separated from the red blood cells. The goal of PRP is to maximize the number of platelets while minimizing the number of red blood cells in a solution that is injected into the dermis layer of the scalp to stimulate the shrinking hair follicles. In summary, PRP creates, stimulates, and accelerates the body’s natural healing process.

How is our procedure better?

Normally the rich plasma is injected into the areas of the scalp that have hair loss. We beleive that this is not the best way to receive the best results because it isolates only a small area that you are receiving the rich plasma. We use our patent machine that has an external tube holding the rich plasma, which has a tube attached to the needle. We can control how much serum comes out and can introduce more serum to areas of scalp that needs more.  Serum is delivered at time of puncher allowing every area of your scalp to receive the necessary amount of serum to help regrow your hair. Our machine delivers 40,000 punchers within 10 minutes. The results are absolutely amazing in a short amount of time.

Summary of Invention of Machine

The invention provides a microneedling machine that permits microneedles to be easily

inserted into skin with minimal or no damage, pain, or irritation to the tissue. The invention

further provides a microneedling machine for the administration of soluble lotions,

pharmaceutical agents and cosmetic agents to skin through the site where the

microneedle is inserted. The microneedling machine is manipulated by an operator to

insert microneedles into a desired site in the skin. Microneedles used in conjunction with

the microneedling machine are shaped to be gradually finer from the base to the tip and

have sharp tips for insertion into skin. The microneedles may comprise a variety of

shapes, for example circular cone or polygonal pyramid such as triangulate pyramid,

quadrangular pyramid, hexagonal pyramid and octagonal pyramid. In addition, the

microneedling machine comprises a reservoir having an internal cavity that holds lotion,

pharmaceutical agents or cosmetic agents. Tubing runs from the base of the reservoir to

carry the lotion, pharmaceutical agents or cosmetic agents held therein to the tip of the

microneedle at the point of insertion into the skin. The reservoir is made of a deformable

material that can be compressed to deliver the lotion, pharmaceutical agent or cosmetic

agent stored therein to the tip of the microneedle. The microneedling machine allows for

different lotions, pharmaceutical agents or cosmetic agents to be delivered to the skin by

the microneedle in a controlled and varied manner by the operator of the machine.

FAQ

What causes hair loss in women?  Hair thinning in women which affects nearly 40 million American women is mainly due to heredity and can start any time after puberty. However, we also know that female pattern hair loss can be strongly influenced by age, nutrition, stress, surgery, medications, illness, social/lifestyle factors, hair care and more. As hair follicles weaken and stop producing hair, hair loss occurs.

What causes hair loss in men?  In men we know that hair loss follows a very specific, progressive pattern that is passed on through heredity and is triggered by hormone–specifically dihydrotestosterone or DHT. An estimated 60 million American men are suffering with male pattern hair loss. As hair follicles miniaturize and weaken, coverage of the scalp diminishes leaving thinning or balding areas.

How does Platelet Rich Plasma treat hair loss?  Androgenetic alopecia, orpattern hair loss, causes the hair follicles to gradually shrink, so that they produce thinner and thinner hairs until, eventually, they stop producing hair altogether. Injecting platelet rich plasma into the dermis of the scalp can stimulate these shrinking hair follicles to become healthier and larger, reversing the thinning process and facilitating fuller, thicker hair growth.

How soon will I see results from my PRP hair treatment?  Although you will start to see improvement in hair texture, thickness of hair shaft and growth of new hairs in the treated area within two weeks after treatment, it typically takes three to six months from your initial treatment to see measurable results.  Depending on your hair loss you can expect to do 4 treatments 6 weeks apart than every 3 months until hair is restored. After the 2-3 treatments stops hair loss completely.
